"I see them, crammed on that ship, packed like numbers, like monkeys. They don't scream anymore, because they know no one will listen. The law says I should save them, but power has taught me I can decide who deserves to live and who doesn't. I hold a megaphone, but I won't use it. Why should I? After all, they're not like me. While they starve and thirst, I stand here, safe, distant, untouched by their suffering. The ship is called Open Arms, but ironically, its arms remain closed. I've left them to the mercy of the waves, waiting for help that will never come. And so, a beam of light breaks through the horizon, but it’s just an illusion. For some, hope is only a word sprayed on a wall."
